Deb's Kidney Transplant Fund

Let's start by bringing everyone up to speed on mom's medical journey thus far.

Mom has been in end stage kidney failure for a couple years now, and has been undergoing treatment with medications, diet changes, and dialysis three times a week. After numerous hospitalizations for various complications and changes in medical status, we are beginning to look forward. Unfortunately, none of the kids are compatible for donating, though we were all hopeful for a match with our Aunt Mary. Just before it was time to schedule the transplant surgery, uncontrolled complications arose eliminating compatability. Around this time Mom was placed officially on the donor list and is now waiting for that crucial phone call. 

Going forward we would love any thoughts and prayers to be with both our Mom, physicians, as well as the rest of the family, as we all pull together to provide the care that is needed to restore health to the most loving mother, sister, daughter and friend we could imagine. We also ask for people to donate blood as they are able to their local shelters. It doesn't matter the blood type, but be sure to request it as a 'Directed Donation' under Debora McNeillie. This could help with the processing cost during a possible transfusion.

Since our parents divorce over a year ago, Mom's longtime position at Starbucks has been her only source of income. Due to a decline in health, mom was forced to get on short term disability. In the near future she will likely transition to long term, resulting in an even more significant decline in income. With that said, any financial support that can be offered will be tremendously appreciated to help with the ever-growing medical costs.

We will be updating as regularly as we are able with how Mom is doing. With this gofundme page, we are trying to give her back a little more control of her life.
