Our friend and brother, Richard Jones, after 48 years of public service, has decided to retire. Richard spent 2 years in Mayor Lindsey’s Office, and 46 years at The City University of New York; (24 years at Manhattan Community College, and 22 years at Medgar Evers College); and countless years as an advocate for political and economic empowerment for our people through his involvement with community-based and civic organizations.
Richard is deeply committed to students and the communities that nurtured them. He inspired thousands of young brothers and sisters and encouraged them to “stay the course” as they worked toward fulfilling their dreams and ambitions.
As a friend of Richard’s, please join us in celebrating his exemplary public and community service.
We are scheduling this memorable event for Saturday, December 7, 2019, from Noon-4:00PM at Giando’s on the Water, which is located at 400 Kent Avenue, (at Broadway) in Brooklyn, New York, 11249. It will be a gathering of family and friends.
Because we love Richard and we appreciate his longstanding and deep involvement in our struggle for Liberation, we will honor him with this event and present him with a special gift; a trip to the Caribbean.
We are asking each person invited to contribute at least $150 in order to insure a successful event, which our brother deserves.
