On November 29, 2016, with the sudden passing of Prince of Peace Catholic Community’s beloved Deacon Chuck Butler, Heaven has received a new angel. He touched and changed the hearts and lives of families, for generations to come. Stories are pouring in about how profoundly his gentle soul was able to impact the community.
Yesterday, when his wife, Mary Jo, went to Prince of Peace to begin funeral arrangements and inquire about widow’s benefits and health coverage, she was informed that COBRA does not cover widows. There will be a full year before she is 65 and able to receive Medicare. Mary Jo will be without prescription coverage, which will cost over $20,000, in addition to the out of pocket costs while Deacon Chuck was hospitalized this week.
Friends and Family are reaching out to the Faith Community Deacon Chuck loved and served with a lifetime of love and dedication. Please help bridge this difficult time for his widow, Mary Jo, until Medicare coverage begins next year.
