DC CLOSEUP

This is Shakyra "Shaq" .  Shaq is a Junior at Lawton High School she is an all around student athlete.  Shaq has played varsity sports and stays on the honor roll. She has been presented with the  opportunity to go on a trip to Washington DC with fellow classmates. With the deadline for payment  fast approaching she may not be able to go. Here is why Shaqs mother is one of the most courageous people I know she works very hard for very little. two years ago she took in two small boys as  a kinship placement which has resulted in a full adoption, Shaq's older brother is a senior at Abilene Christian. With that being said her mother is being financially pulled in all directions working countless hours to provide for everyone.  Shaq follows in the footsteps of her mother she works very hard in the classroom and on the softball field first one there last one to leave.  She is always willing to help whenever its needed.  Shaq was working part time at Applebees to cover the expenses of the trip but had to take a abrupt leave of absence due to being ill after several doctors visits and countless test. They discovered she has chrohn's disease. trying to manage or get this disease under control has been challenging and working has not been an option. Please help her get to DC she deserves it and I truly believe she has earned it.
