Dawn Thebarge Hill was a jewelry designer whose main aim was to tailor jewelry to bring each wearer joy and to add a little “sparkle’ to peoples lives. If you’ve ever seen any of her jewelry or had the honor of ordering one of her subscription boxes you would understand the delight of a person Dawn was from her creations.
Dawn started having trouble with her health in January 2018. She complained of shortness of breath and being winded on going up 1 flight of stairs, the same stairs she easily took 2 at a time in the past. She complained of feeling “odd.”
After several trips to the doctor, who kept telling her nothing was wrong, she just needed to lose weight, she found a new doctor who was more attentive to her health issues. He ran all the right test to find out what was causing the shortness of breath and found that her protein levels were high, causing a back up of fluids, which affected her heart.
Before Dawn could fully wrap her head around that news, her doctor informed her it was from a rare platelet cancer coming from her bone marrow.
Although shocked by the news Dawn showed a strong determination and optimism to beat this cancer. Along with her new doctor who was very encouraging and the care she was receiving she felt she stood a pretty good chance and went for her 1st chemo treatment on Tuesday August 7th.
On Sunday August 12th, Dawn went for a nap, and her husband Leo, found she had passed away in her sleep.
Both family and friends are devastated by this sudden loss of a beautiful wife/friend/sister/aunt.
Unfortunately, Dawn and her family were not prepared financially for her sudden death. The medical bills were high and those were her immediate concern. This has left her husband, Leo, with no way to financially deal with her funeral expenses.
