Dave's 2nd Fight Against Cancer

In early December we learned that my cancer had returned and that I would have a second fight with cancer in 2016. I had a kidney removed earlier this year. The fight took a lot out of me, both mentally and physically. Recovery was long, painful, and heaped with expenses. Family, friends, and savings were the most important resources my family drew on to make it through this awful time.
My wife Jen was also hospitalized twice this year: once in January with a pulmonary embolism, and again in February with a kidney condition that still requires ongoing treatment. Our 16 year wedding anniversary this year was spent together in outpatient, her hooked up to chemotherapy for her kidney condition and I having visited my doctor.
Now my cancer has come back and brought its friends. I have developed tumors in my lungs, a tumor in a lymph node, and a tumor on an adrenal gland. I am so grateful to still have family and friends, but the savings part is all but vanished.
Asking for contributions from family, friends, and strangers alike is not the most comfortable thing to do, but it has come to this. The savings account is empty and the 401k has very little left.
If my family’s 2016 was a TV show you wouldn’t watch it because it would be too unbelievable.
My family and I are so very grateful for your contribution which will help relieve all of the expenses, medical and non-medical, that come with what’s looking like another long, painful, uphill battle against cancer.
