Darrens Hospital Expenses Indonesia

A few days ago, Darren was involved in a serious motorbike accident in Indonesia. The injuries he sustained were a compound fracture to his leg and extensive facial lacerations of which several operations are required, one of which has already been carried out.
As Darren is still unaware of what is happening being in such a bad way, it has fallen on the shoulders of good friend and Bali resident musician Richard Kaal who has been overseeing all necessary treatment needed so far, including covering the initial triage and ambulance cost. It is estimated, after the operation already carried out, plus the next one needed and hospital fees, the total expense will be approx AUD $20,000.
Unfortunately Darren was uninsured, and all hospital fees must be paid up front in Indonesia. Richard, Darren's family and friends are all desperately trying to come up with funds right now so he can have all the necessary operations carried out. Mercifully, we have just been informed he will, eventually make a full recovery.
Anyone who has anything to do with music in Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays, would know Darren Hicks. He has been a part of the community for many years and we all know him for his big heart and passion for music and life in general. Many musicians from around the country have also met him on their touring travels through the Whitsundays and beyond, he has helped them out wherever he can, in whatever way they have needed. Always. Let's give something back to him at this most urgent time, whatever you can give will be most appreciated.
