Afternoon, family & friends. As many of you have heard today our family has lost a father a son a brother and for so many of you a friend. Our dad dedicated his life to love which he installed into us his children ,which is why this time is extremely tough for us. Our hearts are sore and we are still in despair because we never expected our father to leave so soon . Many of you knew Darren Ravenor the tough, strong man with a golden smile that could light up a room that had never seen light. However the last few years where very grey as our dad faced many challenges in his health, this year was the toughest year of them all , he came and fought every battle to survive every move the devil tried to take he didn’t allow it because he was truly our soldier. Our soldier. As often as he could he would find the strength and time to write a message on his wall in the hopes it would touch one person because spreading love was all our father was about. We never expected something like this to occur so early in our lives, the father us 6 children Deon, Malcolm, Zefara, Romain Charmaine and Dwayne.
Today we turn to the people who’s lives our father was able to enlighten to help us fulfil his dream and legacy. Despite being in England for the past 20 years our dad was a very proud Zambian. He would take each and every opportunity to promote Zambia with joy and left a remarkable impact on the lives of endless people in the Zambian community.
Thus we feel it is only right that our Zambian hero of a father is laid to rest in the place that held such great importance in his life, allowing us children to witness this wonderland our father spoke of and give him the most deserving of resting places, next to his own father in Lusaka. So we ask you all family and friends to help us children put our beloved father to rest peacefully.
