Darla's Rally Against Cancer

With a heavy heart, I share with you that my beautiful twin sister has recently been diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. The cancer is triple-negative which means it can be quite aggressive and treatment options are limited. The good news is that it was found relatively quickly and we are confident it can be cured with chemotherapy and surgery.
The process to curing Darla is that she will have 8 rounds of chemotherapy followed by surgery to remove the nasty little bugger. Given the aggressive nature of this cancer, the chemotherapy is also aggressive. Darla will not be able to work for a minimum of 8 months while she endures the chemotherapy treatment. Darla is a hard-working single mom, who puts everyone before herself. For Darla’s treatment to be successful she will need a stress-free environment and limited environmental contact, due to the delicacy of her immune system, while she works towards healing. Her income is limited and not working is an added and unneeded stress. As Darla’s twin I have an innate responsibility to do all that I can to ease her stress during this difficult time. When she hurts, I hurt. Though I can’t cure cancer I can help Darla to lessen the financial load she will be facing.
Everyone who knows Darla knows that she is the most kindhearted, sweet, and generous person and this world is a better place simply because she is in it. Her smile lights up a room and her pure strength as a single hearing-impaired mother is inspiring. This cancer has made her run the gauntlet over this past month but head held high, and reassurances to others that she will be okay has only deepened my love and respect for her. Please help me help Darla beat cancer. Anything you can contribute to help this amazing person is greatly appreciated. However, we understand finances are tight these days for all and we would be most grateful for nothing more than a positive thought.
My goal is to raise about $40,000 to help Darla through this time.
