Want to help this wonderful person? What an awesome brother and friend. My name is Allison (Nickel) Flaten and I am Daniel's sister and we are hoping to get him home to Seattle soon!!!
For everyone who doesn't know.... Daniel was involved in an accident while we were visiting in Vermont. The accident happened on July 17th where Daniel fractured his spine... it was a T11-T12 fracture with spinal cord compression. His surgery went very well and he has begun his journey towards a successful recovery. The surgeons and doctors have indicated a positive recovery towards regaining mobility. Dan is currently in acute rehab working towards gaining strength and mobility. Dan is currently in Vermont and we are hopeful he can head back to the Seattle area after acute rehab. Once in Seattle he will continue working to regain mobility.
Many of you have reached out to ask how you can help... we know there will be many expenses, not covered by insurance and this fund will be the most useful for Daniel. Most immediatey, the donation dollars will be used to help fly Daniel back to the Seattle area safely and help make any immediate home improvements so Dan can easily adjust to living at home again. The funds will also help support Dan when he returns home as it may be a while before he will return to work. All funds will be provided directly to Daniel on a regular basis. Don't get me wrong, though, he is still pumped to receive candy, books, games, and love. Anything you want to send his way... even a simple text message to make him laugh or smile is awesome!
