Dan Robinson's Quest to Recovery

Donation protected
Round 3 for the Robinson Family and Cancer.

During the week between Christmas and New Year’s eve, Dan was diagnosed with a very aggressive brain tumor. We immediately prayed together and the tumor stopped to which the MRI scans seemed to confirm. It was the size of a golf ball at which time Dan said that we needed to name this bad boy. He named it “Bubba” and immediately said ‘Bubba’s gotta go”. Bubba has since been removed, but Dan is going to have radiation and chemo daily until all of the residual tumor has been terminated. Many prayers continue on Dan’s behalf. This will be a long challenge to his body to endure, but Dan’s positive outlook on this journey makes a huge difference.

Round 2 was back in November of 2013, Terry, Dan's wife was diagnosed with colon cancer. Though an aggressive form of cancer as well, it was discovered early enough not to require radiation before surgery to shrink size of the tumor. Thankfully I did not require chemo or radiation therapies after the surgical removal. A 6 day stay in the hospital, plus billings from specialists, labs, technicians, all added up. Dan worked as many overtime hours available to him to keep up with the portion of the bills not covered by insurance, and keep us debt free.

Round 1 with cancer was in 1994. Again, caught in the early stages, the tumor did not require any kind of radiation or chemo therapy prior to or following the surgery. But requiring a hip replacement and a femur bone transplant, which has been a continual source of pain to this day. Dan does not say much about the daily pain levels, but his face often shows the fatigue.

Though we walk a line of discipline in our finances, there are times when one must set aside pride and independence and ask for help. The cost of these treatments and procedures along with therapy has been overwhelming and the need for help financially in this process. Any donations above our needs will be donated to a cancer research foundation. Thank you and God bless for anything that you can contribute, even the smallest amount can make a difference. We so appreciate your prayers and support.
