Danny and Penny's medical fund

We went in for a normal gallbladder procedure for Penny. It needed to be removed on February 16th. The surgery took a little longer than expected, however they said that was because of so many gallstones. She had to stay over that night.  Then the next week the dr. had penny in the next week for what she thought was a consult. The surgeon ended up telling her that during the surgery they found a nodule and they tested it, which turned out to be cancerous. It also looked like it was in the liver. She found out alone because they didn't bother to have ask her to bring me (her husband) with her.  

After all all that they did several tests and scans which I've had to take a lot of time off of work which makes all these trips to the hospital difficult with gas, medical bills, and prescriptions piling up. She was scheduled to have liver surgery when they thought the cancer was localized to the liver. The plan was to just take a piece of the liver out that had the cancer, however, when they performed the laporoscopic procedure they found that it had spread to the abdominal wall. That was a very difficult day for all of us because we were given lots of hope that it hadn't spread at all. Only to find out that it's fast moving and they've staged it at 4. 

They decided to start chemo treatment as soon as she healed from the laporoscopic procedure. She just had her first treatment on 4/17/17 and will be having more. She will also be doing vitamin C infusions starting the week of 4/24/17 to boost her immune system.
