Help! We NEED a car!

Hello  friends and kind strangers,

My husband and I are a pair of (recently returned to college) students who have been working hard and trying to get ourselves to a better place in life.

On Monday (5/1), fate dealt us an incredibly cruel blow and took not one, but BOTH of our cars (one to an accident and the other to untimely mechanical failure)- and with them our only means of transportation (pictured: our wonderful car, Phyrexia, at the celebration of her 200,000 mile roll-over).   We’ve been working as much as we can while dealing with a demanding course load in engineering, chemistry, and math - freelancing as models for art classes to make our grocery money - but we haven’t had enough surplus to put more than $1000 away.

We are now in search of a reliable car at as low a cost as possible.

We need to raise the money to buy a car as soon as possible, so that we can get back to work and, hopefully, not have any problems getting to the summer classes that we're taking beginning May 16th.

We are both incredibly grateful for any support that you can offer.
