As all of you may know, my dad, Dan Milliron got diagnosed with Stage 4 kidney cancer in September. He has had such a long, devastating recovery ever since. He ended up getting his left kidney removed, and thought he was on the path to a somewhat easy recovery. He went back to work for a very short time and got what he thought was a cold. Then figured out it was more than that. The doctors said he had pneumonia. After more investigation we found out that the cancer was growing in his lungs. We then as a family had to decide our next path we would like to go down. With some great research and recommendations my dad and Bonnie found a cancer treatment center called New Hope based out of Yuma, Arizona (the actual hospital was on the Mexico side) They hopped on a plane and went down there for an extensive 12-day inpatient treatment where they did multiple tests and treatments. Upon arrival back home, my dad was very run down, and just wasn’t himself. Bonnie took my dad into the St. Cloud hospital where he was then admitted, and still is there. They are doing dialysis 3 days a week and is expected to be out very soon if he keeps recovering.

I was so ecstatic when my dad felt strong enough to go out hunting with me again this past deer season. You really learn to live your life everyday and make the best of each and every day. As much as my dad is struggling in every aspect of his life, you would never know. Ever.

With all this being said, it is very mentally, physically, and financially draining. My dad has and always will be a trucker at heart. But I think as a family we have came to the understanding that this isn’t apart of his reality anymore. My dad has always been the person who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. It breaks my heart watching my dad go through what he is. It also gives me courage and I envy his strength so much. With all this going on, he can still smile and try his best to remain positive when in all reality we are all struggling to just breathe. My dad has given everything he possibly can, and something as small as this GoFundMe is the least I can do for him. My dad has an amazing support system, and I thank each and every one of you for all the love, support, and prayers. My biggest hope would be that my dad can relax, try and recover, and not have to stress so much about the money aspect of this horrific thing called cancer.
