Dan Manrique - Our Hero

Donation protected
It is with the most shattered and heavy heart that we write this post to let everyone know that Daniel Manrique was at Borderline shooting in Thousand Oaks. He was shot and killed in an absolutely senseless act of violence that we will never understand. He had spent his entire adult life, post military service, helping veterans readjust to civilian life and had just recently accepted a position with Team RWB as the Pacific Regional Program Manager. We had no doubt that he died a hero, shielding others from gunshots, and that has been confirmed by countless accounts of what happened that night. He will forever be our hero, son, brother, and the best uncle anybody could ever ask for.

The outpouring of love and support for Dan and for our family has been indescribable.  It has felt like we have been enveloped in a warm hug spanning the entire world for the past few days. We knew Dan was an incredible person but we have been blown away by the amount of people Dan was able to reach during his 33 years on this earth.

Many, many people have asked for the creation of this fund.  Any money raised will go towards memorial expenses, life celebrations, and other ways in which we can continue Dan's legacy and prioritizing reaching out to Veterans through the local chapters of Team Red, White, & Blue.

All of our gratitude & love,

Manrique Family
