Damian's Journey To Recovery
Donation protected
On April 28, 2016 my brother Damian was a thriving, happy and successful student at Cal State San Marcos. Damian was a avid player of Super Smash Bros and a straight A student. His friends said he had a healthy balance of social and academics and was the center of their social circle, organizing poker games and Dungeons and Dragons game nights. On April 29, 2016 his life took a devastating turn.... my brother, Damian Manrique had a massive stroke that has severely affected his life and his future. He survived an event that could have ended his life and he has given all of us a renewed faith in the power of prayer. Damian is making a miraculous recovery but he still has a long way to go to regain the quality of life every 19 year old deserves. We have been blessed to have Damian with us, however there are many costs of care we are incurring. The money that we are raising will go towards Damian's medical equipment and additonal care and therapy; it will help us to afford essentials for him to be cared for in our home and allow his family to care for him. The bigger costs are his wheel chair, hosiptal bed, and mode of transportation to his appointments. Damian has a few upcoming surgeries to repair the AVM that caused this tragic event and he will have a surgery to replace his bone flap. This fundraiser will help us to ensure that Damian's recovery process is comfortable and affords him the best care possible. My brother, my family, and I are so grateful for all donations that are given to this campaign. We hope that one day soon he will be the same Damian he was prior to his stroke....we miss him! Thank you for all donations that are given to Damian's journey to recovery, my family and I appreciate all that is given to us.
