Daisy Boo and Her Tick Fight

After picking Daisy up from the groomers, I noticed her mouth was drooping. A thorough search revealed a paralysis a tick on her cheek, which was removed. 


At the initial vet check she seemed to be doing okay, but a few hours later took a drastic turn for the worse, and needed immediate emergency treatment to survive. She’s only a little dog - 5kg - and the tick toxin has knocked her badly.

She’s a special member of our family and it’s been very upsetting to see her so ill. The only option for us was for her to receive treatment to survive. The alternative wasn’t something we could consider.

She spent the night at the emergency vet hospital and is now with the regular vet for follow up treatment and care. We are so grateful that she’s survived the tick bite. 

The vets have been wonderful in their care of Daisy and her survival, but these expenses were definitely unexpected and have quickly added up (already over $1300).
