Dahlia Medical Expenses
My name is Charlie and I am a Disabled Veteran just tryin to make his own lil home in the world. September 1, 2016 i cashed in my VA Home Loan on my own home. That same day, i adopted a dog that reminds me very much like myself, Dahlia. We've both had a hard life and deserve a place to relax and call home.
Well, heres a little bit bout Dahlia's history: She is a 7 yr old Bulldog/Pitbull mix who was rescued in North Carolina by her previous owner 2 years ago. The first 5 years of her life, she was abused and neglected in the Dogfighting World. Upon being rescued and relocated up here, her previous owner had some personal hardships and couldnt provide the kind of home that Dahlia deserves.
So, i have my own home, large front n back yard where Dahlia is known as the Woman of the House.
However, when i first got her, she was skin n bones. Ive spent the last 4 months trying to get something to stick to her. One week she eats fine, another week she may not eat at all. So, i took her to the Vet and got some more insight into Dahlia's history:
This is her Xrays. If you look at all the white dots, these are where she was shot with what we believe is Buckshot when she was younger that was never removed.
She also has a Tumor under her right Armpit, Liver Disease, and Heartworm positive.
I have her scheduled for an ultrasound on friday to look further into the liver disease and everything else, but these medical expenses are piling up REAL quick. Im a single Disabled Veteran who works, pays a mortgage, utilities, etc. Im trying to do right for Dahlia and give her a life that she deserves, but i could use a little help.
So, to everybody out there, She will gladly appreciate any assistance offered to help this poor puppy get healthy and enjoy whats left of her life (for the first time IN her life).
