Dad's Cancer Recovery

As you all know, or maybe don’t know, our dad was diagnosed with stage 2 bladder cancer in August of 2018. With a daughter going off to college and the other moving out, the news could not have come at a more difficult and inconvenient time for our family. Since then, our dad has undergone Transurethral Bladder Tumor Resection (TURBT) surgery, 9 rounds of chemotherapy from October to December, and then onto Cystectomy, or a full removal of his bladder, surgery in January of 2019. He faces a long recovery at a minimum of 3 months, but is staying positive and strong, and hopefully cancer-free. We will not know fully until his next CAT scan and some more bloodwork.
Our lives all took a turn and since then we’ve been working on adjusting to the small and large changes that have come our way. With that being said, a whole new pressure has been brought upon our mother, myself, and even my little sister to keep our lives moving forward as much as possible.
Please understand that our parents strongly opposed a Go-Fund-Me due to a lot of reasons, but we believe that our family, friends, and even strangers can help rally together the support that they don’t have the heart to ask for…
Our donation goal is in hopes of providing the finances for hospital bills and the cushion that was taken from them in August when dad had to stop working as much because of chemotherapy and now, while he is not working at all. This donation is asked by their two daughters, Emra and Ilda, who can’t bear to see them heartbroken anymore by what life has served them but unable to do it on our own just yet.
We both would like to emphasize the thankfulness and gratitude felt by our entire family to those who donate, share, visit, and even just send thoughts and prayers our way. In times of feeling like everything has completely fallen apart, your kind actions and words have kept us afloat.
