Help Monique walk again

We never expect accidents will happen, but they can happen anytime with anyone. This happened to my friend Monique.
Monique is a young and happy lady, who was fulfilling a dream in America when she sprained her knee and had a serious injury and now needs an expensive surgery to walk again.
During a trip right after her au pair program in the US, she sprained her left knee, which affected the cartilage and caused her a serious injury.
Everyone knows health treatments in the USA can be outrageous expensive and it was not different with Monique. Doctors told her she needs a surgery that could cost up to $40,000 to get back to her feet! Assuming it was her best decision, she decided to go back to Brazil to have surgery and family’s support.
Unfortunately, the surgery cost in Brazil is not that reasonable for her and she will have an expense of R$20.000 reais ($6,000 dollars).
Currently she doesn't have an insurance there, and even if she gets one now, she would have to wait at least six months to get the surgery that she needs. Brazilian government offers free healthcare for everyone, but they have a long waiting line for this. She would need to wait for at least a year to get the surgery. Doctors recommended her to do the surgery in 45 days the latest to avoid permanent loss of the cartilage tissue.
She can’t work, study or do anything else, because she can't put any weight in the injured leg or she will have more cartilage damage or even the bone itself.
Monique really needs some financial support at this moment to go through the surgery, so she could get back to her normal life again, just like any other young adult.
Her family it’s supporting her as much as they can, but they don’t have that much resources at t his time.
We are counting with every and any help to aid Monique with her surgery and recovery!
