Hello Friends and Neighbours,
Help us bring Rima Sharbaji and her husband and four young children to Canada through a family link sponsorship. Rima is the sister of Arij Mousa, the mother of the first Government Sponsored family to arrive in Saint John in December. We have fallen in love with the Mousa family and now we want to reunite this family torn apart by war. Help us sponsor Rima and her family, and reunite these sisters and young cousins.
On the evening of December 21st our welcome team of teachers and their spouses welcomed the Mousa family at the Saint John airport. At the hotel, after a 48 hour journey across the world to land in Saint John, the first question Arij Mousa asked was when she could go back to Jordon to see her family. "Just for a visit" she explained through our translator Milia. This poor women escaped war in Syria with two young children, experienced mistreatment in Jordan as a refugee, and traveled around the world to Canada, and the first thoughts on her mind were for the family she left behind.
The WelcomeSJ team, made up of most of the very same people who welcomed the Mousas at the airport, are committing to the process of a family link sponsorship agreement, to reunite Arij Mousa with her Sister Rima. Instead of a joint government Blended Visa sponsorship, the family link sponsorship will be a more expensive, time consuming and more complicated process. That being said, the Mousa have become like family to our team, and it would mean the world to us to be help facilitate this family reunion.
