Levi's Journey

My son was born with Hirschsprung disease. We did not know he would be sick until after he was born. He was air lifted to children's hospital at 2days old. He had surgery at 4 days old to disconnect his whole large intestines and remove part of his small. The surgeon also created an ostomy during this surgery. The docs predicted that he would go home a week after surgery! My little man had other plans. He refused to eat so he had to have a feeding tube. We went home after a month and a half and he still had the feeding tube that I had to learn to check b4 every feed and change weekly. It's horrible to have to put ur child thru that but it was necessary. He is now taking his feeds by mouth YAY! But he has days that he still doesn't take enuff. He is gaining weight but not as well as he should. The financial part of his illness has been super difficult. I have four other children. I went thru every dime of my savings and borrowed $ while we were in the NICU. I have applied for a ssi check to help with his expenses but so far it hasn't been approved. They said it can take four months. I am also a single mom now as my husband left after our son came home and there's no one who can even take care of Levi. I do odd jobs...cleaning houses..And take him with me. But it's not enuff to make it. Any help at all is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
