Hello theatre lovers,
My name is Dale Hayes. I’ve been involved in the Montreal theatre community as an actor, producer and director for over 35 years. It’s my passion, it’s my love…it’s what drives me creatively.

Early on in my career it became clear that finding work in theatre would be a challenge. I desperately wanted to share my love and passion for live theatre so in 2010, with the help of other passionate artists that shared my vision, I created d2 productions. Our goals were simple: to create opportunities that would showcase some of Montreal’s finest actors, directors, technicians and writers and to dedicate ourselves to producing high quality, accessible theatre for all audiences. Simple…It was not! We've had struggles and many of them. Budget has been the toughest battle we’ve had to fight. Creating opportunities requires a great deal of energy and money. As we grew, our costs grew.
In the past 6 years d2 productions has produced very successful and critically acclaimed productions including Sins of The Mother, Saint Joseph, Folie's Follies, The Basketball Diaries, The Breakfast Club and most recently Misery. We hope to continue to provide work for local artists and quality, affordable theatre to all.

From April 19-30, 2017, we will be producing The Shadow Box, the Tony Award, Pulitzer Prize winning play by Michael Cristofer at MainLine Theatre. We chose this play because it is about real people and real human emotions. With humour and grace three terminally ill patients and their family members prepare to face the inevitable. Although the play’s subject deals with death and what it feels like to face impending death, it also celebrates the joy of living.

Our other fundraising initiatives include BACKSTAGE BITES, a recipe book with 31 pages of meal ideas for the starving artist or anyone else who loves quick and easy recipes.
