Family & Friends I need your help. I am the owner of Designed 2 Dance Creative & Performing Arts in Houston, TX. I am a Philadelphia native and alumni of Girls High, Virginia State University, and North Carolina Central University. I am also member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc and Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority, Inc.
I relocated to Houston to start a dance studio that not only teach dance but provided a haven for my dance students to cope with different situations in their life.
My students work very hard in school and have excellent behavior and been blessed to be selected to represent Houston and travel the world and perform nationally and internationally. D2D has been fortunate to take inner city youth out of their normal surroundings beyond their city limits but NOW its time to rebuild our home.
My Dance Parents vary but mostly are single parents who sacrifice their finances to make sure their child has the best dance education possible.
Due to Hurricane Harvey many of my students had to be evacuated out of their homes via boats, helicopters, and dump trucks. Some lost everything and have to cope with going from a regular life to homeless within hours.
We were in the middle of building our state of the art studio in which my dancers were pledging $200 each to fund the project by Sept 2nd. They have sold popcorn, bbq dinners, participated in fun runs, etc just to reach their goals.
I need your help , would you be willing to donate to help me with the following services:
*I would like to refund each dancers pledge to help their families with the Harvey Crisis
*raise money to complete our new studio build out
*provide a month of dance classes for each dancer
free of charge to help them adjust to their individual change of environment.
As soon as the water recedes my dancers will use our underconstruction location to give out free clothing, food, and furniture to those who are without. My dancers who were not affected will serve with me at local shelters to help those in need.
