Medical Expenses

My sister was injured and almost killed by her spouse in a domestic violence incident. He shot her point-blank with a shotgun (buckshot) in the left hip. The shot traveled thru her body and out of her right leg, creating damage throughout. She was rushed to the hospital which provided her first surgery in attempts to save her life. She was completely unconscious for the first three days but slowly came to with a different outlook on life. Luckily she has made it thru a month of being in the hospital, nine surgeries, and physical therapy to help her walk. She now has to adjust to a new lifestyle living with a colostomy and limping around. Her wounds are still not completely healed but doctors believe with the proper treatment she will heal nicely.

When my sister leaves the hospital she is planning to be a spokesperson for domestic violence. She wants everyone to know her story and the signs she missed or ignored. She has expressed how lucky she feels to be alive and hopes she is able to save other people from the same fate.

In order to give her a good head-start into her new life, we have set up a fundraiser to assist with her very costly medical bills, continued medical treatment, and hopefully a place to live.

The man responsible for this is still on the loose which complicates every move and decision. She needs all the help she can get to completely rebuild her life. Anything you can offer, even prayer, is much appreciated.
