CVRS Surgery for Big Jake
Donation protected
Big Jake was an owner surrender deemed 'too much to handle' by his previous owner when turned over to CVRS (Colbert Vet Rescue) . Time would tell us that he was just emotionally neglected for quite some time, and would get so excited and rambunctious when anyone approached him, he would sometimes physically hurt his owner or himself in his rowdy reactions to the possibility that someone might finally give him some attention. He is the most waggly, wiggly, happy-go-lucky boy, and has calmed down over time at CVRS while getting used to daily attention, love, and walks, however he did sustain a pretty nasty injury about a month ago when his foot got caught under one of the gates while two volunteers were trying to get him out for a walk. He was stapled up, but now needs surgery to fix a tendon that was torn. He is in no pain, just cannot stabilize one of his rear legs due to the injury, and as you all know, the shelter relies on the community for volunteers, donations, and support. Please consider making a donation for this sweet boy, and feel free to set up a time to meet him if you are interested in fostering him through his surgery and healing time, which will be around a year for full recovery. He is an amazing dog, and his great with people of all ages (very gentle with children) , other dogs, and cats. He has become a favorite of all the dog walkers at the rescue!
