Cuban Cat Rescue

Here's your chance to help the cats of Cuba!

Debra Webster, member of El Dorado County Humane Society's Board of Directors and founder of the local Cuban Cat Rescue campaign, will travel to Havana, Cuba, Dec. 13, to launch the country's first feral cat TNR (trap-neuter-return) Program.

She and husband Alan Thompson will meet with members of The Aniplant Project , the only animal protection organization legally permitted to function in Cuba by its government. During their four-day stay, the couple will train Cuban volunteers in:

1. Effective feral cat trapping techniques
2. Post-operative care and recovery;
3. How to best maintain a feral colony.

Local animal welfare advocates are asked to help thousands of intact, free-roaming cats of Cuba.  All funds raised will be used to purchase trapping equipment and medical supplies that Debra and her husband Alan will take to Cuba next month.
