Brentley's Medical Fund

We are excited to announce the inaugural event for VCOM Project Smile by VCOM’s Student Osteopathic Surgical Association (SOSA). For this event, we are bringing our community together to come to the aid of the Wimbish family of Martinsville, VA. Mr. and Mrs. Wimbish are a young family with a 9-month old son named Brentley. The Wimbish’s are in need of our help. Brentley was born with cleft lip/cleft palate causing numerous facial deformities. Not only did this render several structural features ineffective, but also hindered his ability to become the confident and playful young boy he deserves to be. As of today, the financial burden the Wimbish’s have endured to correct Brentley’s condition has totaled approximately $10,000 in medical procedures. Sadly, Brentley will need several more operations over the course of his life to completely mend his medical condition. Thus, we have decided to take a stand. As future physicians and business owners alike, we are, and will continue to be successful because we continuously commit ourselves to our cause. We are the leaders of our society and as such, it should not only be our duty but also a privilege to lend a helping hand to our neighbors in need. Our goal is to fund the upcoming procedures for Brentley and also help with the finances from previous procedures.
