I was in a car with friends about to head home and end my day whin the last thing I could have imagined happens. Another car comes along and starts shooting into the car I'm in. All I hear is glass shattering and again gun shots. I feel some heat on my knee and it is wet. I think I'm cut by glass, then the heat turns into a burning pain I've never felt. I realize I'm am shot. 7 bullet holes were in the door where I was sitting and I was only hit once in the leg. My femur bone was broken by the bullet, but I am alive and well. I found out while in the hospital that my insurance had lapsed. I have staples and stitches in my leg and I can't afford to go to my follow up appointment
And get them out. I cannot afford my medication or any rehab I may need. I also have a child that is being so strong for her mommy that my heart aches. She wants to see me get better and I want to give her a Christmas she deserves.
