Maybe not everyone knows the difficult road our daughter Crystallyne has had to endure not only from her first being born a preemie and only being 1 1/2 pounds... yes she was more than 4 months early... She was the hardest little fighter there was.. and she lived.... She went home at 3 pounds, small but perfect.
She had a normal medical history after that until she turned 20, where she ended up in Kidney Failure.   The doctors at Mass General Hospital looked for every possible reason why and yet found none, she has for the past 11 years continued to surprise those doctors who wanted her to get a Kidney Transplant back in 2010. Crystallyne continually educated herself and struggled through issues all this time, she is absolutely the strongest woman that I know.

Her anxiety has often got the best of her but she even has battled that and now manages that instead of it managing her.

At this point Crystallyne has 5% Kidney function, to the horror of her Drs , Family and Friends, and thankfully has little to no symptoms.. but it has come time for her to initiate the proceedings with Dialysis.
She is choosing for now to start with peritoneal dialysis, she will be able to have that done in the home,   with a lot of support from Mass General and I am certain many trips to Boston.

Crystallyne is not ready to begin the procedure of Kidney Transplant as she is in hopes that something that has less risk of rejection will be discovered.

I have made every effort that I can and will continue to do so in order to manage these expenses that have and will be upon us.
As you can imagine our trips into Boston cost not only gas, parking, food and other unintended costs all add up.
We also are very lucky that we will be flying Crystallynes closest friend from Washington state to Boston to give her some much needed support.... We want to be able to have her here on the most difficult of times for Crystallyne.

If you ask Crystallyne what were   the best times that she remembers she always amazes me with the same answer, it was when she would come to volunteer at the Part time Police Academy in Western MA with their scenarios, it was on their testing week.   She worked hard and with a smile.. she helped make that training special.   That is who she is... a true giver.

Crystallyne will not always be able to work of course and I have finally got to the point where I just need to ask if there are some of you out there that can help and would like to help, I would be beyond grateful.
I know we all have expenses, please if you cant help, do not worry... your positive energy and prayers are priceless. We love you all.

Thank  you,
Crystallynes Mom & Dad
