Who are we?
Gamers and bakers, by the names, Mike and Miriam. We have a passion to start a bakery named Crumbs & Bytes, with the focus being on pop culture and gaming. On a day to day basis, it will be a relaxed cafe with coffee, tea, morning pastries, and simple desserts. At other times, we will be hosting twitch.tv streams (thus Bytes) or small gaming competitions (MOBAs, Street Fighter, etc). The inside aesthetic will have a mix of pop culture and geekery to it ranging from Dungeons and Dragons, Overwatch, to Doctor Who.
We're taking our love baking and meshing it with our love of geekery.
What we need:
We need your help, citizens! Spreading the word is a crucial part this early on. We will be taking donations from this GoFundMe to show the bank, that there are people in the community that have an interest and are willing to put money towards that.
Our early goals for this project are to get professional done artwork for our logo and funding to buy a computer strictly for the Crumbs & Bytes business as well as a PO box. The goal is to bring all this money to the bank, but if we don't get enough funding for a brick and mortar, we will adjust our business plan to a smaller scale. So we also need tables and vending space for farmers markets and bazaars.
Closer to the end of the fund raising, we will be looking for other donations in the way of pop culture memorabilia, artwork, and console controllers (non-working, but in good condition) in order to decorate.
Who are we up against?
We're based near Portland, OR so we need to stand out. There are plenty of gaming locations and bakeries, but we've not seen a combination of the two. A relaxed, but fun environment that is comfortable and welcoming. Popping with color and possible geek culture references.
