Crohn's disease has taken over my life for the last 3 years, and went from moderate to severe in April.
On April 21st I first went to the ER with a hole in my ilium that had leaked onto my appendix, causing abscesses.
Between then and now, I have been in the hospital 3 more times for more abscesses in my ilium, one of which was 7cm and I had to undergo a procedure to have a drain placed.
On August 20th I finally had my ilium removed and now I am currently recovering from surgery.
4 months of hospital stays, appointments, medications, and procedures on top of every day living expenses like rent, utilities, a special diet, gas, everything!
As I have been unable to work, my family and my boyfriend's family have pulled together and have helped us with everything they can. Unfortunately everyone's pockets have been drained by this ordeal, and I'm not sure how we're going to get by the next 2 months it will take until I am finally fit to work again.
All I want to do is feel good enough to work! I'm already using government aid, but it's just simply not enough, and there are still hospital bills to be paid. (Each visit was about $4,000 after insurance)
We are at our wits end and I'm sick of being ill and having to constantly stress about money and how little food I have in the house on any given day because life doesn't just stop when you get sick!
