Team Tristan
Tristan was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy when he was 4 years old. Through the years Tristan has faced many physical and mental struggles and has experienced things that little boys should not have to go through. As this disease has progressed Tristan is unable to keep up with other kids his age. Physically he struggles with stairs, climbing, walking long distances, bending over, jumping, getting out of the bathtub, and he frequently becomes fatiqued easily. Tristan uses a wheelchair at school but as the disease progresses he will eventually need an electric wheelchair for all mobility. Mentally he is showing signs of sadness as he realizes his limitations and prognosis. Through the support of friends and family we have suggested getting a service dog for Tristan to help him with daily tasks. This will also provide him with a constant companion. These dogs are very expensive and insurance will not cover any of the expense. We (family, friends, and co-workers), are asking for your help to get Tristan a service dog and an electric wheelchair when the need arrives. Please help us lift his spirits show him some joy.
