Craig Alguire Memorial Fund

Craig Alguire, M.D., age 42, passed away at home on October 11th, 2019 surrounded by his family following a four-year struggle with brain cancer. Craig inspired others with the way he met the challenge of his terminal diagnosis the same way he lived his short but rich life-with dignity, poise, and an amazing sense of humor.

Craig and his wife Staci—high-school sweethearts from Grand Haven—have worked together to create a life full of love and laughter. As an active father of four young children, Craig could be found cheering on his kids from the pool deck as they continued his legacy of aquatic domination. He was an avid competitor, still completing races and triathlons with impressive times, all while dealing with glioblastoma.

As a cardiologist at Spectrum Health Medical Group, Craig impacted hundreds of patients. Craig completed his undergrad at MSU and continued on to U of M for medical school and his fellowship.

Craig's sudden diagnosis of brain cancer in October of 2015 was met with an outcry of support from community members, friends and family who have been impacted by the positivity of the Alguire family.

This fund is to help support the children's education goals, so they can walk in their father's footsteps and achieve their best life.
