Help the McFarlane Family

My husband has been diagnosed as having fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia is a condition that ther is no cure. It can't be diagnosed through scans, blood tests or x-rays so it is difficult to diagnose. Only a comprehensive medical assessment of ongoing chronic symptoms can diagnose it. My husband has been suffering with many aches and pains in his body for years making it difficult for him to maintain work and provide for the family.
6
years ago he was in a wheelchair and using a walking stick. He was unable to work and on the disability support pension.

Through healing and guidance he was able to work for a limited period of time.

However, he has now had a relapse. His chronic pain and fibromyalgia have flared up and he has had to leave work. He also has chronic tennis elbow and tendinitis in both his arms. He has had to start using his walking stick again when we go out. It is difficult for him to sit or stand for even short periods of time. He is constantly tired and irritable from all the pain he is.

The children find it difficult to understand why their daddy can't play with them as they can't see what is happening to him.

Our rental property is unsuitable for my husbands' needs as it has a combined bath/shower and steps making it difficult for him. We will be facing to break our lease and move to something more practical for our needs.

I have been at home full-time looking after our children and have just started out casual teaching.

We are facing a crisis with Christmas approaching and no income coming in besides the minimal amount Centrelink gives us. We are awaiting to qualify for the DSP again and have applied for the NDIS. We have been told this may take well over a month.

We have committed loans and payments that we had anticipated we could pay.

My children are so kind, caring and understanding. My daughter is currently being assessed for her own conditions including sight and speech impairment. My youngest son has chronic asthma and has been hospitalised twice this year. He is looking at needing an operation soon to remove his tonsils.

We have applied for the disability support pension and the national disability insurance scheme - but as these can be a long drawn out process we don't know how long it will be before we receive any assistance.

The money will go towards:

Medication and ongoing treatment for my husband.

Moving house into more suitable accommodation including bond, moving truck, cleaner and other incidentals.

Ensuring we can pay our rent, electricity, phone, water rates and food.

Other every day expenses.

Loan payments.

Thank you for your support and God Bless you and your family.
