Courtney's Memorial & Family

Courtney Pahl was my lifeline, my inspiration and my motivation along with her brothers for the past 25 plus years.  She was diagnosed with a rare condition called Cockayne syndrome in 1997, meaning our support network family who have also had or still have their children with Cockayne syndrome don't necessarily live very close to us.  Courtney was always a warrior, fighting her way back to her family, both biological and Cockayne syndrome family, even after her stroke in November 2015.  However, on February 2, 2017, surrounded by family and friends, she lost her battle with Cockayne syndrome.  While she is now in heaven and fully healed, I am reaching out to anyone who might be able to help offset the last minute travel arrangements of our family and friends coming from a distance to help us pay our respects to Courtney this coming week, and we also realize that while we gave Courtney a great life, really she gave us a great one and we know there are going to be big financial changes in our lives and also want to be able to help our friends.  Any remaining funds will be put towards a scholarship to be set up in Courtney's memory and to help purchase her headstone for the cemetery as well as pay off any outstanding bills that we may be receiving.   It would be wonderful if these funds could be raised in the coming week so we can extend your gratitude  to our friends who are traveling to us as I type this.
