Care and Comfort for Courtney

Courtney was diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkin’s Burkett’s Lymphoma in December of 2015. It is a blood cancer that attacks the lymphnodes and B cells. It happens to be the fastest and most aggressive cancer out there, and after chemotherapy Courtney will likely have to get radiation. As many would expect, even with insurance the costs of menial factors in the treatment process that we may not think of (such as parking at MD Anderson), add up quickly. Despite undergoing intense in-patient chemotherapy, when she is not in the hospital, Courtney does her best to go to work at her job with Sports Radio 610 and her quality efforts towards her job have not waivered. She also engages in as much physical activity as possible, as to avoid understandable side effects of the cancer experience such as anxiety and depression. Her positive attitude and determination has continued through the tough times her journey has brought thus far.

 
 Some expenses that the Bell’s are struggling with                 include:
 -Parking costs at MD Anderson 2-3 times a week 
-Dick and Kathy Bell (parents) cost of staying at MD Anderson with Courtney during her chemotherapy treatments that occur monthly
-Average of $1700 in wig costs (plus monthly maintenance costs)
-Medication costs (many of which insurance does not cover)
-Miscellaneous hospital bills (some of which insurance does not cover)


Everyone who meets Courtney is impacted with her infectious laughter and heart of gold. To know Courtney is to love her. With cancer being an obvious stressor to any family, the Bell family should not have to add financial struggles to the current situation. Therefore, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
