A Scout's Guide to Costa Rica

Friends, family and fans,
Scout Camp is heading to Costa Rica! We have been handed some amazing opportunities that we just couldn't pass up. Our little east coast circus troupe has been asked to perform and be an integral part of the inaugural Bamboo Bass Festival in Jaco, Costa Rica! This is a great honor and we feel truly blessed that we were chosen. Not only will we be performing aerials, acrobatics and djing at the festival, we will also be helping with organizing the media artists and ensuring the overall safety and design of the aerial rigging on the stages.
This opened the door for us to reach out to the local circus community, searching for collaborators and training. The wonderful folks at La Carpa Circa, Costa Rica's only big top circus, have graciously lended us their support and have opened their arms to have us stay with them. We will be spending some time at their mountain side training facility, where our crews will share knowledge and skills. They even have a Flying Trapeze that our performers will get to try!!!

La Carpa Circo has also connected us with a local social outreach program, which has worked to help us provide a free show in one of Costa Rica's most marginalized communities. We are extremely excited to bring smiles and wonder to the faces of those that would normally not have the opportunity to see a show like ours.
There are eight of us going on this trip.

Once we arrive in Costa Rica our costs are minimal, as the festival and locals will be taking care of us. However, the flights, insurance and rentals are putting a strain on the accounts our crew. So now we are reaching out to you in a last minute push to help recoup the expenses that we have incurred while making this trip a reality.
We have thought long and hard about this and don't want to just ask without giving back.
Each donation will also get you a limited edition Scout Camp sticker. We will also be putting all of your names into a draw for your very own Beats 'N Eats Scout Camp Party! This would include acrobats and photography, all while Scout simultaneously dj's and cooks for your guests! There will be a number of other prizes for the draw which we will update as this campaign moves forward. These will include workshops, one on one training, cooking lessons and kitchen organization sessions!
