Cosplay for Philanthropy works to bring joy through costumes, characters and fairy tales by raising money for charity and awareness for causes, volunteering with children, and giving back to the community.
Cosplay for Philanthropy was created by Zarriah Rose Burkart who wanted to use her love for fantasy to make real world change. The organization was born when she decided to combine her desire to volunteer, her hobby of sewing and cosplay (all her costumes are hand made with love!), and her previous work experience as a dance instructor & camp counselor which gave her valuable tools for working with children and putting together events. She wanted to create a non-profit that would make a positive change in the world by not only serving the community themselves but helping raising funds for other charities while promoting creativity, imagination and child-like wonder. Eventually, Cosplay for Philanthropy was born and she set out on her mission to add a little magic to the world.
In addition to the national work we do for our cause on the web, Cosplay for Philanthropy also lends many physical services to our community. We are based out of Northern Washington and currently provide our physical services to the Northern Washington area as well as the greater Seattle area.
Some of our fundamental services are providing character experiences for children through character visits to children's hospitals and library story times, such as our "Book Time with Belle" service. In addition, our character appearances are available for hire for events with all funds going to charitable causes. Non-profit organizations and charitable causes within the area are eligible for character appearances at no cost!
THE PURPOSE FOR THE FUNDS OF THIS Go Fund Me Fundraiser are:
#1 Goal: Raise $300 To Cover Fee for Filing for 501(c)3 . This will enable donations to us to be a tax write off! We are currently registered as a non-profit in Washington State and we'd like to take this step next!
#2 Goal: Raise $200 To Use Towards Upgrading Costumes
