Cory's Police Games Fund
Donation protected
I'm Sgt. Cory Adkinson and I've been with the Marshall Police Department for 5 years. I became a police officer because I always wanted to help and this is the best way I found that I could help and be a role model for the younger generation. Last week, I competed in the Texas Police Games and placed in 5 categories; first place in the 100 meter dash, first place in the 200 meter dash, first place in the long jump, second place in the 4-by-1 relay and third in the triple jump.
The next step is the World Police Games which is held every two years. World Police Games is equivalent to the Olympics for police officers and firefighters with some 65 countries participating and about 8,000 men and women competing. This year, the event is being held in Los Angeles, California in August and I'm planning on competing if I can raise the funds to go.
Next time it will be in China, after that, the Netherlands, so I wanted to take the opportunity to do it here while it’s in the United States.
But on a police officer’s salary and a family to provide for, I need a little help to reach my goal of $2,500 to be able to make the trip to California to compete. No amount is too small and all donations are greatly appreciated.
