Corrina Van Hamlin: Journey Home.
Corrina was such a beautiful young soul; spirited, talented, giving, and generous. With no warning, this incredible woman has gone. Her light has faded and for those blessed enough to know her, taken some of the joy of life with her. Corrina believed in Art as the expression of your inner self in whatever genre you were adventurous enough to indulge. I am proud to own both books composed with her genius and love for talented people. These works say so much about what she truly valued in this world: Community, Art, giving, family and love.
She ran through the rain laughing, jumped into new experiences with both feet, collected good people the way some collect good wine, and scattered smiles behind her like footprints. A night with Corrina was an adventure in sampling the sweetness of life. She travelled the world, looked for hidden corners of beauty, gloried in every joy, lived her life for others and smiled sincerely and often. She was a sprite, an imp, a little fairy amidst us with a gleeful heart.
Corrina was the Auntie Mame for her nieces and nephews. She had no children of her own, but treated each and every one of ours like a gift we had given to the world. In her memory, I will encourage each of my children to embrace their talents, explore their own art, and share beauty with the world. Far too young to leave us, she had no health or life insurance. Her family is donating many of her organs to others, but they will have considerable funeral expenses. We would like to raise enough money to cover those expenses and create a Corrina Van Hamlin Memorial scholarship for a young woman interested in pursuing an education in Art, Photography, Art therapy, psychology or Sociology.
