Corliss Palmer was an actress, model, and cosmetics spokesperson best known for her scandalous relationship with MOTION PICTURE publisher Eugene Brewster. After winning the 1920 Fame and Fortune Contest in his fan magazine, Brewster attempted to groom her for stardom; instead, she spent more time in the gossip columns than on the screen, and died in obscurity at a mental hospital when she was only 53 years old. Her remains rest in an unmarked grave next to her brother. Corliss wasn't perfect, but neither was her life. The same behavior that made her famous also left her lonely and blacklisted in Hollywood. The one thing she desired most of all was kindness. She deserves one last kindness in the form of a proper headstone.

Hello, everyone!
I wanted to give a quick update just so you know I haven't totally forgotten about Corliss. As I explained in the previous update, the amount of paperwork required to place a headstone at Woodlawn for a non-family member is a bit more extensive than projects I have done in the past. However, all of the paperwork has been sent, so I am just waiting to receive it and then I can visit both the cemetery and the headstone company and write out checks.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you!

A quick update on where we are in the process to place Corliss's headstone. We have heard back from the family and they are currently working on sending over all the necessary paperwork. Once I get it, I will mosey on over to the cemetery to make sure everything is squared. Once that is all done, I will then contact the headstone makers and give them the go ahead. I will keep everyone informed!

Thank you 1000x over to each and every one of you that donated. How amazing is it that we were able to reach our goal on what would have been Corliss's 116th birthday.
To everyone who donated, you are automatically put into a drawing for our giveaways that include Buster Keaton stickers, Harold Lloyd and Mildred Davis pins, a Hollywood Graveyard t-shirt and signed copies of the new Corliss Palmer novel by Jennifer Ann Redmond and junior novel Zombie Junior, by Arthur Dark of Hollywood Graveyard.
As far as status updates, we are waiting for some paperwork from the family that will give authorization for me to place the headstone (since I am not kin). The cemetery where Corliss is buried is a little more strict than cemeteries I have worked with in the past, so we are having to provide more paperwork. We are hoping this will not take long, but I will make sure to keep you updated. Once the paperwork is received by the cemetery, the headstone should take approximately 2 weeks to be created. I will then pick it up and deliver it to the cemetery myself (well, with the help of the strong, strapping Arthur Dark, that is).
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to me!
