Cork Diwali 2017

Diwali is an Indian festival (festival of lights) celebrated throughout the world. It symbolises knowledge over ignorance, good over evil and hope over despair.

WMC is an Indian organisation which  was formed in 2011 in Cork to promote Indian culture. The World Malayalee Council’s (Cork) is a registered Indian organisation at the Cork City Council and the PPN is BC-SI-026. WMC in recent years has organised events like Onam, Children's day, Easter, Cork Diwali and many more. They have also raised funds for associations such as Irish Children's Leukemia Fund, Cork Simon Community, Cork DAWG and many more in the recent past. 

This year WMC has decided to raise funds for Irish Cancer Society.

The Irish Cancer Society is the national cancer charity (charity registration number CHY5863).The Society is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors made up of leading medical experts, scientists and business people. Their vision is that every person in Ireland will have access to the best possible cancer services, and will have the lowest risk of getting cancer, the highest survival rates and the best support and information available when affected by cancer. They mainly focus around prevention, early detection and fighting cancer, with three programme areas to achieve them: advocacy, cancer services and research. 

50% of the funds raised through our Go Fund Me crowdfunding page will be donated to Irish Cancer Society. The rest of the funds will go toward covering hall hire, decorating and catering.

After a huge success last year, Cork Diwali is back this year with a whole new vibe and colour. We assure you that you will be entertained as you have never seen before.
