Corey's Fight Against Stage IV Carcinoma

Donation protected
Dearest friends and loved ones who are willing and able to help out Bradham's Daddy:

February 22nd Bradham's daddy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Squamous Cell Carcinoma following a seven month battle with unrelieved mouth discomfort that was  treated on numerous occasions as oral thrush.
Corey was seen at the ENT the beginning of February where numerous test including blood work, MRI, & biopsies where performed on his tongue & lymph nodes.  Verdict: CANCER.

3.12.19
Corey's tumor in his tongue  extends from his tongue base, further extending to the left side of his hyoid bone, making it inoperable. His biopsies of his lymph also detected tumors on both sides of his neck.  The PET scan showed a subtle lucent lesion within the right femoral neck (hip). At this time the doctors did not think this was related, however set up a MRI for further testing.
PLAN - Port placement and an aggressive Chemo/Radiation treatment.

Fast Forward to 4.8.19

Second MRI completed for further investigation of the lesion of the right femoral neck (hip)

Today 4.9.19

Corey was seen in same day surgery for his power port placement ( a small medical appliance that is installed beneath the skin - through which drugs can be injected and blood samples can be drawn). Following port placement, we where seen at the Hematology office to get the results of the second MRI.

As the doctor entered the room, the look on his face spoke more than a thousand words. His first words confirmed that uneasy look "I am sorry, I have some bad news".

At this moment our hearts dropped into or stomach and the tears began before the doctor could even get his next sentence out.

Corey's cancer has distally metastasized.  The suspicious lesion in his right femoral neck was diagnosed as cancer which since last MRI has metastasized to the intertrochanteric region of the right femur. Numerous additional lesions where found present with the bony pelvis and proximal femur, sacrum, left iliac wing, left ischium and in the right periacetabular region. ...In other simpler words.... the cancer is aggressively on a  rampage.

With aggressive treatment (which will be started Monday 4.15.19) Corey was given a year to live.  The survival rate statistically was 50% of every 100 people diagnosed with this type of cancer made it a year.

With every appointment comes a cost.  With every procedure comes a cost.  With every trip, meal, treatment, a cost that we didn't prepare for.  A cost that we couldn't prepare for.

As much as my pride wants me to keep this to myself and just deal with it, I have asked God to soften my heart.  To let me allow people to help.  To ask people to help.

Whether it's prayer, reaching out, or helping offset costs associated with this diagnosis, we are thankful for any and all of the support we will receive as this is an immensely stressful time on our family emotionally & physically.

Thanks you so much, and much love to all of you. If you can't donate, please share this widely so others might!

Love,
Candace R, Caleb Carrien, Corey & Bradham Banks <3

UPDATE: From the bottom of our hearts we would like to thank all our friends and family near and far for reaching out via tex and call. We thank you for your donations, prayers and sharing this post.  We continue to stay strong threw this dark time and will continue to update this form as treatment begins Monday 4.15.19 to keep all you informed of the journey we face.
