Corey Teachout in Crisis: Needs Help to Overcome Drug Addiction

Friends, family and all those in our community, we are reaching out today with an urgent call for help. We need to raise $2,000 to help Corey Ann Teachout continue with professional treatment to overcome her drug addiction.

Every day, more than 175 people in the United States die after overdosing on opioids. The misuse of and addiction to opioids is a serious national crisis. This national crisis became very personal for many of us when our friend, Chris Lapsley, recently passed away from this horrible disease. Chris’s life partner of 15 years, Corey Teachout is now trying to cope with his passing and to not become a statistic herself. Recently, Corey has successfully completed an in-patient treatment program for her addiction to opioids. This treatment was covered by insurance, but now Corey is in need of financial help for her long term recovery, which is not covered by insurance. All proceeds received will go directly to fund Corey’s housing expenses in a “Sober Living” top of the line drug and grief treatment program on Cape Cod.

It’s hard to go through recovery alone and now is our chance to do something together to rally and support Corey as she is doing everything in her power to fight her addiction and is committed to starting on the right path toward treatment and striving for a happy and healthy future.

Our prayers go out to the Lapsley family, Teachout family and all families struggling with drug addiction. We all may not be able to change the national opioid crisis over night, but we can help one person at a time. Corey needs our help.
