Help Send our Team to Cooperstown!

This Summer, the 2019 Hanson Little League U12 baseball team is headed to the prestigious Cooperstown Dreams Park Invitational Youth Baseball Tournament, which is played in Cooperstown, New York, the home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

Our team needs to raise a substantial sum of money to fund this trip.  The fundraising will go toward travel + lodging costs as well as uniforms + equipment.  While the Summer may seem far away, the deposit to secure our team's spot at the Tournament is due soon.

Our team is made up of 13 players from Hanson:

Austin Breheny (#11) - our shortstop has got range. Austin can not only throw ropes to first, and smack down tags at second, but we can count on him for hits at the plate.

Curtis (CJ) Burke (#19) - a versatile player and supportive teammate.  Whether needed in the outfield or at a base he will give 100% effort.  But his favorite place to be is at bat gripping it and ripping it!

Matt Carroll (#21) - don’t let his size fool you.  Matt's a force on the mound and will make diving catches in centerfield. When he’s not on the field you will likely find him in one place, the line for the snack shed!

Matt Flanagan (#35) - loves patrolling left field and will gun you down with his strong and accurate arm. Matt drives opposing pitchers crazy by working the count and fouling off pitches before making solid contact to the opposite field.

Sean Germaine (#23) - if you don’t see him hanging out on third base, you can catch him hitting line drives into the gap. When Sean is not on the field, you’ll see him cheering on his buddies in the dugout!

Nic Gilcoine  (#9)- makes amazing scoops at first base, he is a strong pitcher and catcher. When Nic doesn't have a baseball in his hand, he is riding his dirt bike, fishing or being a mad scientist!

Billy Hinchey (#3) - you can typically find Billy patrolling the outfield and chasing down fly balls. When not on the field, you’ll likely catch him perfecting his Fortnite dance moves with a mouthful of Big League Chew!

Christian Joanis (#25) - a solid fielder at multiple positions. A contact hitter at the plate making the opposition earn an out. A young man of unwavering resolve having avoided eating a single vegetable for 12 years.

Jack Martin (#3) - he may only be 10, but he holds his own with the 12 year olds,  chipping in on the mound and at SS.  Jack's highlight moment was crushing a triple in Summer ball and scoring the only run for a 1-0 win.

Nate Melia (#17) -you might hear his teammates call him Nate-Dog and that’s because he isn’t afraid to get dirty! You can spot him anywhere in the field, he is the ultimate utility player.

Tysen O'Brien (#21) - he can be found yucking it up with the umps behind the plate or staring down the batter from the mound. Ultimately, Tysen is comfortable and willing to play anywhere on the field.

Tyler Parsons  (#8) - he's a triple threat: Tyler likes playing first base, stealing bases and hitting people home.

Johnny Walker (#5) - when he's not crouched behind the plate, you can find him on the pitcher's mound, usually with a mouthful of sunflower seeds.  Johnny regularly takes home half the infield dirt on his uniform.

Each week of the Summer, Cooperstown Dreams Park welcomes 104 youth baseball teams from around the country comprised of U12 players. The players and their coaches stay at the facility during the week of the Tournament.

The Cooperstown Tournament is highly competitive and includes elite regional All Star and AAU teams from around the country. In fact, current MLB players Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, and David Price, to name a few, all played in the Cooperstown Tournament.

The Tournament promotes a high caliber of play and the opportunity to experience youth baseball as it was meant to be played. Many of the boys on the team have been dreaming about playing in this tournament since they started playing T‐ball in kindergarten.

Please consider making a donation to fund our trip - every little bit counts.  Thank you for helping our team on our journey to Cooperstown.
