Cooper’s Medical Services

This is incredibly difficult for us to put out there. We have a hard time asking for help but it’s come to a point that we are desperate and don’t know where else to turn. Cooper is very sick. His health has regressed very rapidly over the past few weeks. His cognitive function is slipping away. One moment we have a happy 2 year old who can say 50 words. He would greet you with a smile and a cheerful “good morning!” every day. He could point to and say many of his body parts. He would play peek-a-boo with you. He would wave bye-bye to you and blow kisses. All of that is gone now. Within the last month Cooper has lost almost all of his communication skills. On top of his loss of speech, he’s been having extreme meltdowns to the point where he is shaking, hyperventilating, and can’t control himself. He just screams and screams for hours on end sometimes. When he gets into meltdown mode, nothing can soothe him no matter what we do. He has multiple of these meltdowns per day. The sweet Cooper we knew and loved is gone. He has slipped away from us so quickly and unexpectedly. We are left with the shell of the boy we once knew. Anyone who knows Cooper, knows this behavior is not like him at all. We are absolutely heartbroken and we just want our son back.

After speaking with his pediatrician, she recommends he sees a specialist who can evaluate him for behavior and neurological problems. The specialist is not covered by his insurance and a consultation costs $1,500. A follow up consult costs $500+. We simply don’t have the funds to pay for this ourselves, so we decided to put pride aside and reach out for help. We are just two parents who love our son more than anything and want him to be happy. We just want to figure out what’s wrong with him so we can help him have the best quality of life possible. Any amount you can give is so appreciated, more than you will ever know.
