Cooper's Cause #Hemangiosarcoma

Donation protected
We lost our precious pitty baby, Cooper, too soon after a short battle with hermangiosarcoma, a quick spreading blood cancer that is 100% fatal. Several friends and family expressed a desire to help with the veterinarian expenses we incurred the two weeks before we lost him. We hope this online fundraiser will allow anyone who wants to help to do so.  We look forward to donating 10% of the proceeds to the National Canine Cancer Foundation as they fight to find a cure for hermangiosarcoma, which tends to attack large breed dogs. This is our story:

Just a few days after Hurricane Florence hit, our boy was rushed to Mt. Pleasant Veterinarian Specialty Care for an emergency blood transfusion, followed by imaging, ultrasound, bloodwork, and ultimately a life saving surgery spleenectomy. We took our boy home two days later hoping for the best outcome and for more time with him as we awaited biopsy results. One week later we learned that Cooper's tumors were malignant and that he had Hemangiosarcoma, a deadly and fast growing blood cancer. He was given one month to live. Our boy fought hard to get well and put back on some pounds over the next week, but within days he began deteriorating and  bleeding internally again from new tumors. He lived only a week more before we had to make the hard decision to put our Cooper to rest. He died peacefully in our arms as his daddy read us Psalm 104.

I adopted Cooper in 2010 from Placer County Animal Shelter. He was just under a year old when he walked out of the shelter and into the visitation pen with his ball and big goofy grin. Then he walked right into my heart. We left that pen together and was my dearest companion these last 7.5 years. One year later he relocated with me across country back to my home in Raleigh, NC. Together we endured a series of medical issues--Cooper would end up having Cataract surgery to remove blindness in both eyes; three knee surgeries to repair his ACL; and I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2013 and have battled reactivating Epstein-Barr Virus off and on.  Still, Cooper and I shared many years of sweet memories and companionship through all these trials and joys. In 2015 the Lord was good to give both Cooper and I a new family when I married my husband Jody, a widower with four children and two furbabies of their own. Cooper fell in love with his new family immediately! Myrtle Beach/Conway, SC became our new home. He was loved so well and deeply these last 3 years as a new family.

Our family would be so thankful for any help you may be willing to give to help us with the cost of Cooper's surgery and care.   Every dollar will be designated to these bills, and we will also be donating 10% of the proceeds to the National Canine Cancer Foundation to help support the fight to find a cure for Hermangiosarcoma.

"O LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures....These all look to you, to give them their food in due season.
When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are filled with good things. When you hide your face, they are dismayed; when you take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. When you send forth your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the ground. May the glory of the LORD endure forever; may the LORD rejoice in his works..."
