Please kokua Reshmi Rao’s brain aneurysm surgery

Aloha everyone,

The parents of Reshmi Rao, Paul & Anita Main of Ohana Martial Arts, are seeking your support for their daughter's open brain aneurysm surgery at Standford Neuroscience Health Center in California. Reshmi is an undergraduate student at UH Mānoa aspiring to be a doctor herself. We very much want her to continue striving for her degree in hopes to also help others in need and give back to her community here in Hawaii. She has been battling migraines for years and worsening symptoms that will require an urgent open brain operation to remove 2 aneurysms and will be life-threatening if left untreated. Brain aneurysms are caused by weakened blood vessels in the brain and cause it to "balloon" out. If left untreated, there is a high risk of it rupturing and causing a stroke.

For those who aren't aware, Reshmi's older sister, Shannon, had passed away to a ruptured brain aneurysm 10 years ago when she was just 14 years old. Reshmi is in dire need of receiving the surgery carried out by Dr. Gary K. Steinberg; however, medical expenses are not fully covered by insurance and travel plus lodging expenses are completely out of pocket. This has created a financial and emotional burden for our ohana. We humbly ask for any type of donations or support, such as monetary donations or simply sharing this post to help and get her back to full health. All of her proceeds will go to her medical and travel expenses.
