We, so NYC based pianists Jenny Jieun Park (Korea), Sung Soo Cho (Korea), Chantal Balestri (Italy/Switzerland) and cellist Caroline Mirkes (Luxembourg) launch our first Contemporary Art Salon in Brooklyn, NY!
We bumped into each other in 2017 during our studies at NYU Steinhardt and bundled our energies for the creation of a special event including a CONCERT IN THE DARK, an EXPOSITION of art works by Irène Weis and a projection of an UNDERWATER COMEDY by Michelle Kleyr and Anne Klein. The ticket sale pays for the hall and the rent of the piano as well as the AV system, however we would love to pay our artists the minimum amount of 55 dollar per head for performing.
The support means a lot to us, because we are convinced that artists should not play for free, even if they have a lot of fun... We know that 55 dollar is not an appropriate pay for such a performance, but can you imagine that they agreed on practicing and playing for free, in case we won't get the money together? =)
